Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a very basic form of meditation that has grown in popularity in recent years. It consists of focusing your full attention to the present moment, to your own thoughts and feelings and possibly to the world around you.  Mindfulness is fairly straightforward and doesn’t seek to find change. Yet the act of noticing oneself and bringing your thoughts back to the here and now provides a platform where change takes place. It helps us to notice signs of stress and anxiety as they occur and this helps us to deal with them better.

Mindfulness is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as a way to prevent depression.
